This stone has been known to help and assist with cleansing of blood in your bloodstream, and therefore also assists with cleansing the flow for you.  It has protective tendencies, as it assists with keeping out undesirable influences.

Bloodstone has also been known to dispel negative influences from your aura, once again showing its cleansing properties.  This is a good stone for those who are ill, as a talisman stone. 

Mentally, it can assist in calming the mind, and helps you to be in the present moment.  It helps to enhance your strength, determination and courage.
