Spiders have many symbolic meanings, including the German Christmas Spider legend...

A long time ago in Germany, a mother was busily cleaning for Christmas.  The spiders fled to the attic to escape the broom.  When the house became quiet the spiders slowly crept downstairs for a peek. Oh what a beautiful tree!  In their excitement they scurried up the trunk and out along each branch. They were filled with happiness as they climbed amongst the glittering beauty.  But alas!  By the time they were through climbing, the tree was completely shrouded in their dusty grey spider webs.  When Santa Claus came with the gifts for the children and saw the tree covered with spider webs, he smiled as he saw how happy the spiders were, but knew how heart broken the mother would be if she saw the tree covered with the dusty webs.  So he turned the webs to silver and gold.   The tree sparkled and shimmered and was even more beautiful than before.

That's why we have tinsel on our tree and every tree should have a Christmas spider in it's branches!

Along with this amazing legend, spiders also represent weaving the web of your story, the creation of your life journey and path.  Spiders are often connected to Dreamcatchers, the web of the Dreamcatcher was said to be originally weaved by Grandmother Spider.  A tool used for creating our future, and tuning into the inner wisdom of our souls.

A spiders web is a majestic sight on a dewy morning, the pattern of connection as one line touches another.  This speaks of the connection to all living creatures and beings in existence.  Spiders are also symbolic of abundance, infinity, as their bodies are carried by 8 legs.

There is much to learn from these crawling critters! No matter if you choose to use your Spiders as a Christmas tradition and hang on your tree or to hang on a vehicle mirror, in your plant, or even a window, these Spiders offer you beauty, traditions, and legends of dreaming and abundance.

Each Spider measures 2" x 3" and has a 9" clear hanging thread attached.
